Study: High Levels Of Arsenic Found In Bottle Water

There was a time when bottle water was cleaner than tap water, but now after a new study that might not be the case.

According to Huffington Post, a test conducted by Center for Environmental Health in California found two bottled water brands Penafiel, owned by Keurig Dr. Pepper, and Starkey, contains levels of arsenic that are higher than tap water.

Starkey water is owned by Whole Foods, and Penafiel is sold at Target and Walmart has violated state guidelines as high levels of arsenic can cause reproductive harm and even cancer.

From a press release released on Tuesday (June 18th), the organization announced high levels of arsenic have been found in bottle waters sold at major grocery stores.

Center for Environmental Health CEO, Michael Green, has issued a warning saying bottle water could be a better choice than tap water, but could result in serious health problems.

Consumers are being needlessly exposed to arsenic without their knowledge or consent.  They are ingesting an extremely toxic metal.

The Food and Drug Administration has yet to recall either brand of bottled water.
