burn bans

Last week portions of East Texas received some much needed rain after a dry and hot July and first half of August. Prior to the cool front and rain, pretty much all of East Texas was under a burn ban except for a few far northern counties.

Franklin and Wood counties are the latest East Texas counties to have enacted burn bans on them.

Well, the rain East Texas received earlier this year wasn't enough to hold off burn bans for some East Texas counties.

Our lawns, pastures and open lands are in a desperate need of rain right now. Parts of East Texas welcomed the rain yesterday, thanks to a weak cold front that passed through the area, but the little rain that fell didn't really help out the drought condition many parts of East Texas are facing.
