Within two days, East Texas has two state high school football championship titles coming home! For the fifth time in school history, the Carthage Bulldogs are state champions! In the battle for Class 4A Division I, the Carthage Bulldogs had to face off against the Bulldogs of Abilene Wylie in Arlington at AT&T Stadium.
What a Christmas present! The Mineola Yellowjackets won their first ever state championship in high school football during the state championship game against Yoakum!
It all started in August with two-a-day practices is the sweltering summer heat and now it comes down to one game, one more win will give two East Texas teams 2016 Texas High School Football State Titles!
It's been a long tough road to get where they are and they're just a couple of steps away from playing for the state championship in Arlington in a couple of weeks. This weekend several East Texas high school football teams are looking for another win so they can advance on to state and achieve that final win and the title too!
Their eyes have been set on achieving the state championship since back in August with two-a-day practice and now several East Texas high school football teams are a few steps away from achieving their goal and dream! The state quarterfinals games will be Friday night and there are quite a few East Texas teams still on the road to state.
It's quite impressive to see the number of East Texas high school football teams that will be taking the field this Friday or Saturday to play in the regional semifinal games.
