Looks like Katy Perry has something else in common with her erstwhile doppelganger. In some sad but not surprising news, Zooey Deschanel has filed for divorce from Ben Gibbard, her husband of two years. The filing was made Dec. 27, with the official date of separation listed as Oct. 31, 2011. While the divorce is unfortunate, it shed some light on Deschanel’s fortunes.

In addition to being two of everybody’s favorite mainstream-yet-still-indie actors, Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt are also known for their singing. What feels like just moments after Kim Kardashian split from Kris Humphries, Zooey Deschanel and Ben Gibbard have followed suit with a separation of their own. Deschanel rep confirmed the decision to US Weekly, adding that it was “mutual and amicable” and that “there was no third party involved.”
