In Texas, and across the world, most people choose to show respect for those that have passed away.  

But not everyone follows those principals, in fact there is a Texas woman who is now facing charges after being accused of mutilating a body at a funeral home. 

Details on Dead Body Mutilated at Texas Funeral Home 

According to KHOU, 34-year-old Amber Paige Laudermilk was employed as an embalmer at Memorial Mortuary and Cremation which also owns Claire Brothers Funeral Home.  

She is accused of a Texas state jail felony for allegedly mutilating the body of a registered sex offender. 

Whose Body Was Mutilated at the Texas Funeral Home? 

58-year-old Charles Roy Rodriguez died of natural causes in a Houston hospital in January.  

Prior to his death, Rodriguez was charged with sexual assault in 2001 and received a sentence of 10 years of deferred adjudication.  

Specific Details About the Body Mutilation at a Texas Funeral Home 

Employees at the funeral home reported that Laudermilk used a scalpel to stab, castrate, and mutilate the body of Rodriguez. 

The funeral director then reported the incident to the Texas Funeral Service Commission who then reported it to the Harris County Precinct 1. 

It has been confirmed that Laudermilk was fired from her position at the funeral home and has already has her first court appearance answering for these charges.
