However, due to COVID-19 the way we celebrate another year of life is real different now that celebrations have been reduced to either small gatherings, virtual "Zoom" parties, or parades with social distancing guidelines.

Another thing to consider is blowing out the candles on the birthday cake which could also lead to the possibility of spreading the coronavirus to loved ones.

That may change now as Good Housekeeping is reporting that a William Kay, DMD, a dentist based in Boca Raton created Top It Cake Shield and it could change the way we have birthday parties in the near future.

This cake shield was designed to protect birthday party goers from spreading germs on the birthday cake while blowing out candles.

It comes in three different sizes and they are to snap together to cover the cake without ruining it.

While this is a great way to protect your birthday cake the CDC says there is no evidence to support transmission of COVID-19 associated with food.

So while you're planning your next COVID-19 birthday celebration having the Top It Cake Shield should bring you some type of relief.

Top It Cake Shield are available for pre-order and shipments will be going out by October 15th.
