Texas sure does have its share of oddball town names that people in other states might think are strange, and we kinda like it that way.

Now it's time to show your Texas pride and vote for the best town name.  And it's fine if you don't live there.  We'll never know.

The real estate company Estately came out with a state-by-state breakdown of the weirdest town names this week, and they picked Ding Dong as the strangest one in Texas.  It is pretty weird, but there are so many others!  Gun Barrel City, Cut and Shoot, White Settlement, Cool, and Kermit come to mind.

And there are others that might be a little strange too like Frisco, Argyle, Noonday, Ben Wheeler, and Quitman, but we've gotten so used to them that we don't give them a second thought.  They're just part of our culture and we don't ask whether people in Argyle actually like the socks, and we don't accuse men in Quitman of quitting.  We love Texas just the way it is.

So it's time we show our pride and vote for the best town names in East Texas.  Use your own criteria to vote, whether you like the historical meaning, the fact that it's unique, or you just think it has a nice ring to it.  Tell your friends, and come back in a day or two to check on the results.  We love you all equally!  Have fun.
