It's been rumored for quite some time but there hasn't been an official statement from Adele's record company in regards to her singing the theme song for the upcoming James Bond "Skyfall" movie, that is until now!

Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic stated a few weeks ago that he has heard the song and that is sound phenomenal and is Oscar worthy.  We will get to hear it for ourselves on Thursday (October 7th) at 6:07p through Adele's website, Adele.tv.

In a statement obtained by ABC News Radio, Adele says, "I was a little hesitant at first to be involved with the theme song for Skyfall. There's a lot of instant spotlight and pressure when it comes to a Bond song.  But I fell in love with the script...and it ended up being a bit of a no-brainer to do it in the end."

Adele also said it was one of the her most proudest moments when she was in the Abbey Road Studios recording with the stringed section.  The theme song features a 77 piece orchestra and when she gets older Adele said, "I’ll be back combing my hair when I'm 60 telling people I was a Bond girl back in the day, I'm sure!”

When the song is released on her website it will actually be October 5 in London which will coincidentally be the 50th anniversary of the release of the first James Bond film, Dr. No and it will be celebrated as Global James Bond Day.

Look for James Bond: Skyfall to be in theaters November 9th.
