To mark the 20th anniversary of U2‘s ‘Achtung Baby,’ The Killers, Depeche Mode, The Fray and other notable artists have contributed to a start-to-finish reinterpretation of the classic album.
‘AHK-toong BAY-bi Covered,’ also featuring a remix of U2′s original version of ‘Even Better Than the Real Thing,’ will be included in Q magazine‘s 25th anniversary issue, which hits newsstands October 26.
Before leaving the Los Angeles Police Department, Greg Kading made copies of reports and recorded confessions pertaining to the separate murder cases of rappers Tupac Shakur and Christopher Wallace (aka Notorious B.I.G. and Biggie Smalls).
Those materials are a big part of Kading’s new self-published book ‘Murder Rap.’ Due October 4, the book includes a claim by a police informant who says he was offered $1 million by Sean “Diddy” Combs to kill Shakur and Suge Knight, who ran Death Row Records, Shakur’s label home.
Singer Cee Lo Green has racked up a nice range of TV credits, from voice work in the short-lived animated series ‘The Boondocks,’ playing himself in a ‘Saturday Night Live’ sketch and, of course, serving as a coach on ‘The Voice.’
His list of big-screen achievements isn’t quite as long, but Green has just added a noteworthy one: a role in a remake of the 1976 film ‘Sparkle.’
Finishing fourth on ‘American Idol’ isn’t necessarily detrimental to a music career, especially for singers whose registers are best suited for rock.
Things have turned out just fine for Chris Daughtry, season five’s fourth-place finalist. And so far, the likelihood for sustained success is looking good for the season 10 equivalent, James Durbin, who recently signed a contract with Wind-up Records.
Last year, Bono‘s emergency back surgery in Germany had the U2 fan base worried about his welfare.
There was an entirely different kind of concern for Bono over the weekend, when reports circulated that he was treated for chest pains last week at a hospital in Monaco. U2 fans can rest easy, though: It was just a routine checkup, according to a spokeswoman for the 51-year-old singer.
