Given how popular cats are on the internet, it’s no surprise that Friskies — makers of delicious cat food (or so our cats tell us) for over 50 years — recently rolled out a line of tablet-based apps just for cats. Featuring movements, shapes and colors tailored to appeal to kitty’s sensibilities, your feline friend can now download titles like ‘Cat Fishing’ ‘Tasty Treasures Hunt’ and ‘Party Mix-Up’ from the iTunes App Store and Android Market (if you don’t mind a couple of scratches on your screen). Watch some cats test drive the apps below:
Forget about the dawn's early light, this Fourth of July is all about the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air and maybe even a couple of spiders. Those are the ones that, well, look kind of like a spider, anyway.
For a professional singer, there are few gaffes more embarrassing than flubbing a line from 'The Star Spangled Banner.' (Are you listening, Christina Aguilera?) But when these pint-sized patriots get caught up on the lyrics, well, it's just flat-out adorable. The more mess-ups, the merrier.
As Della Reese once said in the 1996 Martin Lawrence classic of the same name, “It’s a thin line between love and hate.” Mackie the Boston Terrier clearly has some strong feeling about being tickled, but whether “Please sir, may I have another?” or “If you touch me again, I’m going to explode” is up for interpretation. Either way, it manifests itself with a series of delightful facial expressions the Mackie’s owner caught on camera:
“Indoor tanning is out,” says the Canadian Dermatology Association, who’ve placed tanning beds squarely in their crosshairs with a new web PSA that shows young women singing their skin with a clothes iron, toaster and waffle iron. Ouch. The CDA hopes these exaggerated examples of frying one’s skin hammers home the dangers of tanning. According to their website:
American popular music has been around since before America even declared its independence. ‘Yankee Doodle,’ anyone? That classic was sung by Colonial American soldiers as early as The French and Indian War.
Since then, our country has established one of the richest musical traditions in the world. Many songs even deal with America itself, from ‘God Bless America’ to ‘God Bless the USA.’
Here’s a list of 10 to add to your Fourth of July playlist.
There’s no doubting the ease and creativity with which this gentleman avoids an oncoming train. Courtesy of UK based YouTuber BlackMoonCGI (who had a hit video a few months ago with his take on what’s inside Dr. Spock’s scanner), with this instructional video you’ll never get stuck with your car on the train tracks again.
As cat owners know well, kitties like to curl up in any old warm spot: a ray of sunshine, the top of a radiator and, in the case of these curious cats, in the hoods and undercarriages of cars. Check out these auto-residing felines who made it out safely, thanks to some surprised mechanics.
We don’t know what it is exactly, but Australia has been having its fair share of great news bloopers recently. This video of a streaker running behind a 9News weatherman as he reports on the bitter cold temperatures in the mountain town of Katoomba (about 60 miles west of Sydney) is no exception. Be sure to pay close attention though: It’s a quick streak and if you blink, you might miss it. In fact, given how cold it is, you might still miss “it” if he were standing there, stark naked, right in front of you. There’s also a part of us that wonders if most Australians would even bat an eye at this sort of thing because if you’ve ever seen one of those “World’s Funniest Commercial” specials, all the naked ones are from Australia.
After days of heavy rain in China’s Anhui Province, residents of Huangshan City were treated to a “mirage” that turned their cityscape into an ethereal scene, the likes of which are normally reserved for movies and fairytales. As the post-storm mist descended on the Tunxi section of the Xin’an River, large groups gathered to marvel at buildings and landmarks that appeared to float on the river surrounded by clouds.
