Texans love everything big and Texans love firearms, so where can you put those two things together?

We Like Things Big

Around these parts there are convenience stores called Buc-ee's. These humongous stores are an absolute destination stop filled to the brim with every kind of snack,  souvenir and things you didn't know you needed. The first store opened in Lake Jackson, Texas in 1982 and they are the perfect example of the way things are done in Texas, so what about guns?

Texas Loves Guns

I think it goes without saying that Texans are well armed. In 2022, nearly 1.5 million firearms were sold in the state. I can't say that I'm that surprised, because you need one for home protection, one for hunting, one for "the collection", another one somebody else in the house can handle, another one for home protection, and so on.  I think the only thing that rivals the amount of firearms firearm lovers have is the amount of guitars that guitarists have.

And The Winner Is...

Actually only one place makes the claim of "largest gun dealers in West Texas" and that is by the amount of in-stock firearms. Until notified differently, Sharpshooters in Lubbock, Texas, with their claim of over 3800 firearms in stock and title of "Largest gun store Dallas to Denver" makes them the title holder until someone else steps up.

Color Me Surprised

I know Texans and I know gun owners. I am genuinely surprised that "Largest Gun Store In Texas" isn't a title more stores are fighting for. I guess this is the first volley in making that happen. If you are a representative of a store and you can verify that you keep more than 3800 firearms in stock, hit me here and we'll update this post, or write up a new one.
