White Rock Lake located in East Dallas is a beautiful site to see on its surface but locals say for decades now they have encountered a pale young woman there who they called the lady of the lake. The story goes that the young lady will ask, anyone who crosses her path for a ride home, and the ones who have done it say they will look away just for a moment and the young ladies will disappear leaving a damp spot where she sat. This story goes as far back as in the 1930s. and no one exactly knows who she is.

The story says that the woman was heading home after a dance with her boyfriend one night when he suddenly lost control of the car and drove into the lake drowning both of them. There is another story that says the woman took her own life at the lake after her heart was broken.
