Chick-fil-A Used Peppermint From This Texas Candy Company

• Two great southern brands got together once.
• Chick-fil-A branded the shake as "Enjoy-mint for any moment" and is only available seasonally.
• Peppermint menu items available since November in Chick-fil-A locations have all been using peppermint candy from Atkinson Candy Company.

If you ordered a Peppermint Chip Milkshake, Peppermint Iced Coffee, Peppermint Coffee, Icedream Dessert with Peppermint Bark Chips, or a Frosted Peppermint Chip Coffee at your local Chick-fil-A, you might have unknowingly been supporting a local Texas business.

According to the "Love Lufkin" Facebook page, Lufkin's own Atkinson Candy Company peppermint is used in Chick-fil-A peppermint shakes nationwide.

Atkinson Candy reached out to us and clarified the information as something they did in the past.

While we appreciate posts that inform the community of what is happening within Atkinson Candy Company, it is important to make sure that the information is also current.  Our Mint Twists® have formerly been in the Chick-fil-A peppermint items, however, it is not currently (to our immediate knowledge) being used.  

If you are in love with the shakes and treats they are offering, Atkinson's "Mint Twists Crushed Peppermint Candy" could be used to recreate them at home.

The description of the candy on their webpage describes exactly what we have all been experiencing.

The Chick-fil-A website also has some recipe ideas that include peppermint candy, but don't go so far as to call out the Texas candy maker. There is a Peppermint Milkshake Pie and a Peppermint Chocolate Chunk Cookie Sandwich featured that would benefit from some additional Atkinson peppermint goodness.

Atkinson Candy recently celebrated 91 years of candy making in Lufkin. It's one of the sweetest things about Texas.

We are known around the world because of their delicious Chick-o-Stick and Peanut Butter Bars, and I love to see their Mint Twists getting some love.

Many Texans know the feeling of getting one of these 2lbs giant peppermint sticks from Atkinson Candy under the tree at Christmas. Fresh breath all year long!
