Will Chili’s Be Closing Their Locations in Texas?
Yes one of the big stories involving food is the closing of the Texas chain, Chili's. We've already seen some locations close down in Missouri & there were fears of it closing possibly Oklahoma too but what about its home state of Texas? Are they closing stores in Texas? Well we have good news & bad news in regards to that...
There HAVE been some Texas Chili's locations that are closed
Just earlier this year, one location in Port Arthur, Texas, just 80 miles from Houston closed their doors on April 9th much to the dismay of people in the area. The Chili's was located at 8665 Memorial Blvd.
However we have seen several Chili's locations close before; like in North Texas, Hickory Creek & in Abilene. But those are all years ago; so far we have seen at least 1 in 2024 make the news.
But there is good news for Chili's fans in Texas
According to Chili's website, there are locations in (LITERALLY) over a 100 Texas cities still open for business. As someone who lives close to one, I can definitely attest to this: they are still open & very busy, especially during the weekends. In El Paso alone, we have 5 locations around town so, as of right now, we're still able to go to Chili's.
Of course there's still that fear of more restaurants just suddenly closing their doors, like what happened in Port Arthur back in April. But as of right now, there hasn't been any announcement of other Texas locations closing so... we will just have to wait and see what Chili's decides to do in the future.
