Is a war brewing between Drake and Jay Z? Despite reports last year that the two hip-hop titans were working on new music together, the two seem to be engaging in a war of words against each other.

In an interview with Rolling Stone in February, Drake questioned Jay Z mixing the art world with hip-hop. The rapper told the magazine, "It's like Hov can't drop bars these days without at least four art references! I would love to collect at some point, but I think the whole rap/art world thing is getting kind of corny."

Billlboard reported that Jay Z fired back at Drake in his verse on Jay Electronica's remix of Drake and Soulja Boy's 'We Made It' where he says, "Sorry Mr. Drizzy for so much art talk / Silly me rappin' 'bout shit that I really bought / Why these rappers rap about guns they ain't shot? / And a bunch of other silly shit that they ain't got."

During Saturday's NBA Playoffs game between the Toronto Raptors and the Brooklyn Nets, Drake joined the Toronto Sports Network on the air and gave support to his hometown Raptors, who are coincidentally battling Jay Z's former team in the first round. When asked about Jay Z, Drake quipped, "Jay Z is somewhere eating a fondue plate."

"It's our time, we got to keep it competitive," Drake added. "It's an ironic matchup."

So do Drake and Jay Z really have beef with each other, or is it mutual competitiveness between the two hip-hop icons?
