Economist Says 2012 Will Be ‘Good, Solid Year’ for Tyler
According to economist Dr. Ray Perryman, “2012 will be a good. solid year for Tyler.”
Perryman presented his economic forecast during Thursday’s 28th annual Tyler Economic Development and Chamber of Commerce quarterly membership luncheon.
Perryman said the local economy will grow at a 4 percent annual rate, which he said is very healthy in today’s economic climate. East Texas continues to see positive signs in economic growth fueled by the health care sector, education and the state’s natural resources in oil and gas.
Perryman also noted that retails sales are another positive sign the economy is coming slowly out of the recession.
