Ed Sheeran to Record Followup to ‘+’ During Taylor Swift Red Tour
If you've been eyeing Ed Sheeran's busy tour schedule and fretting that it could take him forever to get around to following up his hit '+' album, don't worry -- he won't be waiting long before he gets back to the studio.
In fact, as Sheeran recently told Billboard (via MTV), he's going to be doing double duty while he's on the road with Taylor Swift, working on new songs while performing for thousands of screaming fans. "I've got around 26 songs for the next record, and I've got another nine months on the road to keep writing as well, so the record's definitely on his way," he explained. "I can tell you it will probably come out in February 2014, and I'm gonna be recording and writing it over the whole Taylor tour."
Pressed for some hints as to what fans can expect to hear on the next record, Sheeran hedged a little. "Most of the first record was written when I was 17, 18 at the time, and I'm 21 now," he offered. "So I've definitely evolved in the way I write songs and the way I perform, the whole mindspace. So it's just going to be a little more developed, I think."
