George Clooney was arrested in Washington D.C. today for protesting the humanitarian crisis in Sudan.

Clooney was part of a group outside the Sudanese embassy protesting the country’s blockade of aide and other supplies to its residents. He was among a reported 12 taken away by police, a group including at least one congressman, Martin Luther King III and his father, Nick Clooney, according to TMZ.

Judging from pictures, Clooney didn’t seem to disappointed in his arrest.

TMZ published this statement by Clooney’s publicist, Stan Rosenfield:

They were protesting the violence committed by the government of Sudan on its own innocent men, women and children. They were demanding they allow humanitarian aid into the country before it becomes the largest humanitarian crisis in the world.
