Jason Mraz's fans have been eagerly awaiting new music from him since his last album was released back in 2008.  It appears as if the long wait is finally over because Mraz has released a new song to kick off 2012!  The song, "I Won't Give Up" popped up on YouTube with a lyric video and is an acoustic ballad.

This new song could have been inspired by Jason's recent relationship with Tristan Prettyman.  The two were engaged to be married but called it off last June.  The two have said they would remain close friends and apparently Jason's actions had caused the split.

Tristan Prettyman wrote in a blog after the breakup,

For those of you asking...I am no longer engaged.  Why: He wasn't ready.  It's all good, though.  We are still friends.  I am committed to him being a happy human, growing into a great man, that will one day rock someone's world." (ABC Radio News)
