I’ve been in search of a dentist for a while now. I had been going to the same dentist for over 25 years, and had great care in my hometown. After years of driving an hour to return home to see him, I finally decided to find one in Tyler and settled on Dr. Matthew Grace at Broadway Dental.

I put a lot of thought into this decision. My mouth is important. I talk for a living, and I am careful about who I choose to take care of it. But I found some great tips from the American Dental Association on what to consider when searching for a new dentist and during your first few visit:

  1. Is the dental office committed to providing dental health education so you can do your part to prevent future problems?
  2. Is the office staff familiar with your dental plan and quick to answer any questions on financing?
  3. Be sure to tell the dentist about any past bad experiences or anxiety so he or she can help you have a pleasant experience at your new dental office.
  4. Is the office accessible for dental emergencies?

I recently had my first appointment with Dr. Grace and I was so impressed. His office is open 6 days a week and offers same-day appointments, so I'm covered if I ever wake up with a throbbing tooth. The entire staff is courteous and knowledgeable.

Dr. Grace is easy to talk to, and accessible when you’re in need. I was glad to find someone like me: He's a local guy who decided to come home and practice in East Texas.
