My Vacation To Carlsbad Caverns

My kids and I had a chance to go on a much needed vacation this past week!  Ruidoso, New Mexico was greatness!  We had a chance to go horseback riding, bet on horses at Ruidoso Downs, roll down hills at White Sands, spot numerous deer, elk, and bears!  Oh, and the mornings were a cool 52 degrees!!  Yep!  Priceless!  We also stopped at Carlsbad Caverns on the way home.  Have you been lately?  Gorgeous!

My 10 year old and I hiked out on Saturday.  1.4 miles....80 stories....25% uphill grade.....Yes, I'm kind of proud!  We made it out in 40 minutes too!  I have to share this with you.  I took my 4 year old and 10 year old on a self guided tour of what's called the "Big Room".  I was encouraging the kids to use their imaginations and let me know what they saw in each formation.  Was it an elephant, a fairy, a hamburger?  You get the point, right?  Please tell me what YOU see in this formation?  That is exactly what my son saw and from that moment on....was ALL he saw.  Loudly too!   What's the most embarrassing thing your little one or ones has ever said?  Share it with me this afternoon!  Have a great day!  Dang the heat!!!
