Though their fans are up in arms about their reunion, at least one person approves of Rihanna getting back together with Chris Brown: Her own dad.

Despite the fact that Brown assaulted Rihanna in 2009, her pops, Ronald Fenty, is perfectly fine with Breezy being back in RiRi's life. "I think everyone makes mistakes and they shouldn't be held to them forever," he told InTouch (via The Boombox). "Everyone should be forgiven once. There's a lot more to Chris than the whole world knows. I love Chris, man. He's got so much charisma. And he's always had so much respect for me," Fenty insisted. "That's what I love about him. He's always shown me respect."

Brown and Rihanna have made headlines after exchanging mushy tweets and attending a Jay-Z concert together in Brooklyn this week, following rumors of hooking up on the low at clubs for months. They were even snapped kissing at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards, though reports say they didn't show up together.

Brown took things a step further and gave more credence to rumors when he made a statement about his official split with model Karrueche Tran, who was reportedly blindsided by the split (though she suspected he was up to no good with RiRi). He recently released a somewhat bizarre, admittedly drunken video detailing how he's in love with two people, presumably Rihanna and Karrueche, at the same time.

Though the pair have been reported to be quietly seeing each other for months, we do think it's pretty convenient that they'd make moves to become more public with their relationship when Rihanna has a single, 'Diamonds,' to promote. Just sayin'! She previously only spoke about her 2009 assault just before her album 'Rated R' was set to drop. She may be in love, but she's also a mastermind!

Aside from Brown's respect for Fenty, the 'Don't Wake Me Up' singer also simply makes Rihanna smile. "I know they love each other. They always have," Fenty continued. "She's happiest when she's around him, and as long as she's happy, I am happy and the whole world should be too."

We agree with him -- if only because nothing else will stop them!
