Smith County House Fire Leaves One Person Dead
Fire investigators are trying to determine the cause of an early Morning House Fire Monday in the Winona Area that claimed the life of a Smith County Woman.
Authorities’ say the victim whose name has not been released at this time was disabled an unable to escape her burning home located at County Rd 3110.
Firefighters responding to the blaze at 3:20 a.m. originally thought two people were trapped in the home, but soon learned the victim’s husband who is also disabled was recently hospitalized.
Winona, Red Springs, Jackson, and Gladewater fire fighters responded to the blaze.
