It's one of the longest running daytime soap operas on TV and today marks the end of an era for All My Children.  After entertaining millions of people since 1970, today's episode of All My Children will be it's last on network television.  It will also mark the last time you'll see one of the show's most famous characters too.  More after the jump.

It’s the end of an era. Well, almost. EW.com confirmed Thursday that ABC’s long-running soap opera, ‘All My Children,’ will officially go off the air on Friday, Sept. 23. Among the stars returning to bid adieu are Josh Duhamel and Carol Burnett.

With 'All My Children' set to go off the air in September, soap hunk Josh Duhamel has agreed to reprise his role as Leo du Pres for an episode or two in August, EW.com is exclusively reporting. Duhamel, who won an Emmy for his role on the series in 2002, last appeared on the show that same year, when du Pres supposedly died while trying to save girlfriend Greenlee, played by Rebecca Budig. Oprah Winfrey Won’t Save The Soaps
Soap fans have apparently reached out to Oprah Winfrey for her to help save their soaps.  ABC will be cancelling All My Children and One Life To Live this year and next year.  Fans have asked her save the shows and put them on her OWN Network.  Oprah has stated she's unable to come to their rescue and has released a statement via YouTube.  See her reply after the jump.

It looks like vacuum maker Hoover is about to play dirty.
