A trio of new flicks hits theaters this weekend, with a little something for all audiences.

For the third weekend in a row, 'Gravity' dominated the box office, taking no prisoners in its quest to become one of 2013's most deserving blockbusters. However, its tremendous success has been at the expense of a handful of other films, which have been crushed in Alfonso Cuaron's titanic wake.

This weekend we get a remake of a '70s horror classic, Arnold and Stallone finally punching and shooting things together onscreen ('80s action-movie fans, rejoice!) and a based-on-true-events political thriller about that creepy-looking Wikileaks guy.

It's an action-packed weekend at theaters, with two new thrillers arriving—one based on true events, the other a sequel to a movie that not too many saw, but, well, there's a sequel anyway.

When you are having one of those days when you just can't find the motivation to do anything and need a pick-me-up, a classic movie is always a solid option. The real question is which movie should you choose.

There's nothing like a family-friendly animated movie to help shake off the September doldrums and 'Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2' performed as expected. It's a weekend crowded with newcomers at theaters, with various entertainments aimed at all ages and interests.

September may traditionally be a wasteland of half-baked films unfit to open in a proper month, but the lack of competition can actually be a good thing. Could 'Prisoners,' a film made specifically for an adult audience, have opened as well as it did if it was released in a busier month? Probably not.

This weekend we have a psychological thriller about a parent's desperate search for his missing child and the latest addition to the unlikely-dance-team-tries-to-win-the-dance-team-championship genre, so if you're into either of those things, you're in luck!

This weekend at theaters, we get the sequel to a popular 2010 horror hit by the director of this summer's smash, 'The Conjuring,' plus a return to gangster life for Robert De Niro (though not exactly 'Goodfellas' or 'Godfather' territory). Happy Friday the 13th!
