If I learned anything about Abu Dhabi from watching the entirety of Sex and the City 2 while sitting in a tattoo parlor waiting room (which actually happened and is not a joke), it’s that the United Arab Emirates city is a mecca of wealth. The oil-rich nation has concentrated much of its affluence in its capital, and accordingly, the area has exploded with development in recent years. Skyscrapers have cropped up like so many dandelions, massive tourist resorts now dot the coastline, and high-end boutique shopping caters to such fashionable visitors as Carrie Bradshaw and her pals. And while Abu Dhabi’s latest attraction won’t invite as many Dolce & Gabbana puns as one might like, it will delight comic book fans worldwide.
Based on the images we’ve seen so far (and just the images), it’s fair to assume that Justice League is a movie about A. a long-haired metal-head who starts a rock cover band with a group of people in unnecessarily elaborate costumes, or B. a team of superheroes who spend their time aggressively posing and staring at things offscreen. Either way, it seems like it could be a good time.
Supergirl understandably wanted to keep the emphasis on its title hero throughout Season 1, rather than risk any potential Superman overshadowing, though the series’ bizarre habit of featuring the character just offscreen had many wondering if TV-movie boundaries came into play. The arrival of Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman in Season 2 certainly changes that, though producers say they were actually surprised by Warner Bros. decision to let them use the Man of Steel.
Look, in the sky! It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s a Goodyear tire! No, it’s the new Superman costume from Justice League. Seemingly confirming rumors that the Man of Steel will be wearing a black suit in Zack Snyder’s next superhero epic, Henry Cavill shared a new close-up shot of the Superman costume from the set of the upcoming film — and although you can’t see the entire thing, it is most certainly black.
Fans are more anxious than ever for a look at Supergirl Season 2, its first on The CW, and with a bonafide Superman, and the Vancouver set brings all kinds of DC goodies. Looks like we’ll see Kara’s version of Metropolis and Luthor Corp in the latest set photos, plus … Stephen Amell?
As tends to be the case with live-action superhero costumes, Supergirl got ahead of Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman suit debut with a glossy first look at the new Man of Steel posed with his cousin. Now, sneak a much more detailed peek with new Supergirl Season 2 set photos, as Superman goes up, up and away!
“In a democracy,” says Holly Hunter’s Senator Finch in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, “good is a conversation, not a unilateral decision.” The 32 minutes added to the movie’s “Ultimate Edition,” now available digitally and released on Blu-ray and DVD July 19, include a lot of unnecessary shoe leather, and fills in gaps that don’t need the extra gob of narrative spackle.
Supergirl’s move to The CW for Season 2 raised bigger questions than whether or not Superman would ever drop by, consider at least one mystery solved. The Martian Manhunter himself, David Harewood shared the official title for Supergirl’s Season 2 premiere, one that may just presage the arrival of a familiar face.
