"I am not a lawyer by any means, but 100% someone needs to be held accountable."

Tim Miller, founder of Texas EquuSearch spoke about the heartbreaking discovery made over the weekend at a Houston Hotel.

A precious 8-year-old girl was reported missing Saturday after her family was unable to find her during a stay at the Double Tree Hotel in northwest Houston.

"Many of us had to wipe tears from our eyes," Miller said.

The young girl was last seen swimming in the hotel pool but couldn't be located by her family after she took a dip in the pool. The reality of what happened is a tragedy.

STARTLING SURVEILLANCE VIDEO

Miller from EquuSearch was called in and at first, he didn't know what to think. He asked himself, "Did she run off? Was she taken?..." Miller and the Houston Fire Department reviewed video surveillance and made a startling observation.

The video shows the little girl swimming in the hotel pool and when she went underwater, she never resurfaced. This prompted them to drain the pool and send cameras down the swimming pool piping to take a look and that's when they made the heartbreaking discovery,

HEARTBREAKING DETAILS

"We saw her little hand and part of her body," Miller said.

Miller explained there was some kind of malfunction, and the child was pulled into an opening in the poo; that was supposed to be pushing water out, not in.

"She was wedged in there so very, very tight. I don't think she decided, 'I am going to swim in here and see what's here,'" Miller said. After 13 hours, HFD was able to completely recover the 8-year-old's body from the pipes.

"I never, ever thought in a million years it was going to end up as bad as it ended up, so I don't know, there is a grieving family out there, and it is going to be a long, painful healing process over this one," Miller said.
