City of Tyler Mayor Barbara Bass is seeking volunteers to help plant approximately 100 trees Saturday, March 8. You're invited meet on the patio of Fresh by Brookshire's at 9:30 a.m. if you're interested in volunteering your time and efforts to add trees to Tyler's growing urban forest.

Volunteers will be fed a free breakfast from Fresh before teaming up to plant trees in multiple locations along the Old Jacksonville corridor. Volunteers are requested to bring their own shovel and gloves.

The Tree Tyler Initiative is in its fourth year, and Mayor Bass has now shifted focus to plant trees along major corridors within Tyler. While this is the first event of this nature
, Tree Tyler has already seen over 5,000 trees planted in the city limits.

Sites have already been established with proper irrigation for additional sites, and the holes for the trees will be pre-dug.
