Watch Out: Nasty Fungal Infection on the Rise in Texas

The last thing that anyone in Texas wants is to get any form of sickness or infection. If you don’t have good health, it’s difficult to do just about anything else you want to do in life. Which is why when we hear about a deadly fungal disease that is spreading across the United States of course we want to share that information with you. 

According to the Irish Star this fungal disease has experts concerned about a “global health threat” as the cases of Candida auris fungal infection continue to grow across the country. The first case was reported in the country back in 2016 but recently there was an outbreak in the Seattle area that has a high fatality rate. 

The Fungal Infections are in Other States 

While most Texans aren’t too worried about any outbreak in the Seattle area, we need to realize that the fungus has been present in other states for years including here in the state of Texas.  

What Are the Symptoms for C. auris Infections? 

The difficult part is that health experts are saying there are no common set of symptoms for C. auris infections. It could cause a bloodstream infection, fever, chills, sweats or low blood pressure.

How to Prevent Spreading the C. auris Infection? 

The infection can be spread through human contact or through touching a contaminated surface or object. So, washing your hands and using hand sanitizer often is important to make sure you avoid contracting or spreading the infection.
