Just when you've found the perfect way to pass the time during quarantine, hackers find a way to ruin the fun. Nintendo has announced that 160,000 of its player's accounts have been compromised.

According to PC World, Nintendo says that the hacking started the beginning of April. Through the hack, players' Nintendo Network ID (NNID) passwords, usernames, links to their Paypal accounts, and birth dates were all accessed.

Users took to social media to share just when they realized their accounts had been hacked.

Hackers were able to get into Nintendo Network IDs and buy Fortnite’s virtual currency known as V-Bucks.

Nintendo says that it is notifying affected users via email, but only people with an older NNID account are at risk. It's also recommended that all users turn on two-factor authentication to protect against unauthorized logins.
