Catastrophic Amount Of Illegal Fentanyl Found In Texas Apartment

 A terrifying amount of fentanyl was found during a raid in Houston that was enough to kill an estimated 11 million people.

RAID CONFISCATES MASSIVE AMOUNT OF DRUGS

41-year-old Khawaja Mansoor Munir is out on bail after a 12-hour raid of his apartment in Houston, Texas. A shocking amount of fentanyl was found during the extensive raid.

According to authorities, the following was found:

• 50 pounds of fentanyl
• 20 pounds of methamphetamine
• small amounts of heroin

Dr. Asim Shah, a professor and the executive chair of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at Baylor College of Medicine commented on the massive findings:

"Thinking about it, if it was not found, makes me have jitters," 

 

LETHAL AMOUNTS OF FENTANYL

Based on the estimate by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency(DEA), a single kilogram of fentanyl has the potential to kill half a million people. With the massive 52 pounds of fentanyl found in Munir's apartment, that is enough for over 11 million people.

Dr. Shah explains that fentanyl is 100 times more potent than morphine and that one of the many problems with fentanyl is that it's not regulated and potency can vary.

"Because there's no quality control, there's no control," Dr. Shah said. "It could be more dangerous."

CURRENT AND PREVIOUS CHARGES

Munir faced similar charges last year after authorities found a smaller amount of drugs with him. However, those charges were later dropped due to "insufficient evidence."

Khawaja Mansoor Munir posted his $75,000 bond Sunday and will be back in court on July 10th for possession with the intent to deliver and manufacture a controlled substance charges.
