‘A Series of Unfortunate Events’ to Hit Netflix
No, I don't mean that an actual series of unfortunate events are happening to Netflix anytime soon. Yes, I do mean that the ever-popular book series by Lemony Snicket will be transformed into an original series for Netflix.
If you are not familiar with the story of the three Bauldelaire orphans (Violet, Klaus and Sunny) I would suggest reading the 13-novel series prior to the series debuting on Netflix, but I'll do my best to provide a quick summary:
After a fire in their home left the three children orphaned, they were sent to live with their uncle, Count Olaf. Yes, he is equally awful as his name implies. Essentially, the series covers Count Olaf's many attempts to get rid of the children and recover their large inheritance. During this time, the children are challenged more times than one would care to count and sent to live with more distant relatives than one can even imagine.
If you want to know anything else before the series debuts, I would read the books. Or I suppose you could just search more information about the plot line. However, I will not be sharing any more information other than the fact that Snicket (whose real name is Daniel Handler) is still working with Netflix to find the perfect director and cast.
