(Eagle Pass, Texas) While we all know that crimes including here in Texas are done out of desperation, this crime story seems like one that was destined for failure from the beginning.

Gigantic Amount of Meth Discovered at Texas Border

It’s common to hear about smuggling attempts at the Eagle Pass Port of Entry, but this one is larger than most attempts.

According to U.S. Customs Border Protection their field officers seized alleged liquid methamphetamine that totaled more than $10 million dollars in street value.

The total discovery was 1,149 pounds discovered within an external fuel tank.

The value of the drugs if they reached the streets of Texas would be $10,562,320.

Female Driver Apprehended After Finding the Meth

The 2000 Dodge pickup being used in the operation approached Eagle Pass International Bridge on Sunday, April 20th.

A CBP officer referred the 46-year-old female driver who is a Mexican citizen to a secondary inspection.

The suspect's name has not been released as of yet.

If you didn’t know already, U.S. Customs and Border Protection uses incredible technology to scan every vehicle attempting to enter the United States.

The Investigation Continues

As you would expect this case is still being investigated by law enforcement.

Whenever you find a suspect who is trying to sneak this large of an amount of drugs into the country, law enforcement will want to know as much information as possible.

The narcotics as well as the Dodge pickup were seized at the time of the arrest.

We cannot thank our courageous officers enough for working to keep these drugs off the streets.
