Going a bit off the grid amounted to some serious trouble for Bachelor contestant Bekah Martinez, whose mother called her in as "missing" to police in November just after Martinez had finished completing filming for The Bachelor. And in a new interview, she explains how the massive miscommunication came to be.

During a chat with Jimmy Kimmel Live!Martinez said that she took a trip to the mountains and out of phone service range after being eliminated from the show, and noted her mother conveniently forgot at some point during the adventure, even though Martinez had notified her.

“First of all, a lot of people thought I lied to my mother saying that I was on a farm when I was actually on The Bachelor but no I had already been eliminated from the show,” she said. “I just decided to go to the mountains with my friends for a couple weeks and I was there for six or seven days without phone service which I thought I was going to have phone service and I told my mother that I would."

Finally, she said all hell broke loose when she finally plugged back in.

“I just had this weird feeling like on the sixth or seventh day, I need to go home now. So I got in my car, drove to where I had service, called my parents and then come to find out only 12 hours before my mother had called the Humboldt Sheriff’s Department saying that I was missing,” she said.

Martinez's mother alleged that her daughter was planning to go to work on a marijuana farm, but the latest Bachelor castoff says she's not made such a leap yet.

“To set the record straight I’m not a weed farmer. I’m still a nanny in L.A.," she said.
