College football officially kicks off this weekend and before the action gets underway. Let's see what Texas teams are the favorite to make it.

Sadly, Gambling is Still Illegal in Texas

Maybe one day I will be able to place a legal bet on some college football games here in Texas. Sadly, this is another year where I will not be able to bet like millions of others in the country. This year will be the first time that twelve teams can make it into the college football playoff for a shot at the National Championship. Let's see which schools in Texas currently have the best odds at making it in.

Favorite for Texas is the Longhorns at -220

Texas A&M is Second Favorite at +240

SMU is Third Favorite at +1,100

Texas State is the Fourth Favorite at +1,200

Texas Tech is the Fifth Favorite at +1,300

All betting odds taken from FanDuel. Obviously as games start to happen those odds will change. SMU actually played a game over the weekend in week zero and did not look that great. They would get the win, but they were heavily favored and were losing going into the fourth quarter. I'm excited to see how this new playoff format will go down. I personally was not a fan of a team losing a single game then being eliminated for a shot at the national championship. Teams can still have a shot with a loss on their schedule, so it should be a lot more exciting this year.
