(Tyler, Texas) Could it really be happening? Could construction finally be underway on the long-awaited Dave & Buster's location in Tyler at The Village at Cumberland Park? From the looks of things, the answer is yes.  Construction on the entertainment complex looks to be in the very early phase.

New Activity at the Proposed Site

When I went to the gym last week, I noticed a big bulldozer and excavator sitting on the empty lot across from Planet Fitness, along with a couple of port-a-potties. A few days later, orange fencing went up, and dirt began being moved around and hauled away. Something is being developed on this parcel of land; if not Dave & Buster's, something else is coming to town.

Last December, the children's park in the shopping center was closed. Vinyl banners went up around the park stating the park was closed for future Dave & Buster's construction, coming soon.

That's why I believe the time has come, and soon, Tyler and East Texas will have another dining and entertainment option.

What We Know About the Project

We reported in December 2024 that the entertainment facility was coming to town. Other local news outlets reported that a filing was also made with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation for the project. The building is expected to be around 23,000 square feet and cost about $4.5 million.

What Dave & Buster's Offers Guests

If you've never experienced a Dave & Buster's, you're in for an experience. You can dine and play adult-focused arcade games while watching sports on screens throughout the facility. The menu covers American foods - burgers, wings, pasta, pizza - along with all kinds of appetizers and desserts. Either before or after you eat, or in between bites, you can challenge your friends at a video game.

Tyler residents have been waiting quite some time for an entertainment concept like this. It could quickly become a popular destination for many Tylerites and East Texans.

When Could Construction Be Complete?

While no official word has been announced or an opening date published, it sure looks as if construction is underway on this project. If not, I'll be writing about something else coming to Tyler soon, then. Fingers crossed that Dave & Buster's is finally happening!
