Daylight Saving Time Returns This Weekend (March 8th)
Remember that extra hour of sleep you got back in early November, well, it's time to give it back to Father Time and Mother Nature this weekend.
Once again our bodies will be thrown out of its routine thanks to the return of Daylight Saving Time. Texas, along with most of the United States and other nations around the globe will setting our clocks forward one hour Sunday morning at 2 A.M. When we finally get adjusted to this 'new time' again, we'll be happier because there will be more sunlight in the evening.
So if you don't have a clock that automatically adjusts to Daylight Saving Time, you'll need to set your clocks forward one hour before going to bed Saturday night! Then when you wake on Sunday you'll also need to change the clock on your wall, your microwave, coffee maker, stove and other gadgets!
While you're running around the house changing your clocks you probably should check the following too:
- smoke detector batteries - replace them with new ones
- carbon monoxide monitor batteries - replace them with new ones
- test home alarm systems - notify monitoring service before you do this though or else the police and fire department could be dispatched to your home
Interestingly, not all of the states within the U.S. recognize this time change. Residents of Hawaii are on constant time along with most of Arizona.
