Smith County Judge Nathaniel Moran has donated blood at the Carter BloodCare and he is encouraging all of us in Smith County to join in and help.

In this video he states that blood levels are extremely low during this pandemic and asking us to make an appointment to donate blood.

I have donated in the past and it's really heroic that the blood you donate could save a life including your own.

If you want to make a blood donation you have meet the following requirements

  • Be 16 years of age and in good health.
  • Weigh at least 110 pounds
  • Eat a low-fat meal two to four hours before giving.
  • Drink lots of water and juice before and after donating.

Donations are made through appointment only and you will have to go through a screening process.
