Since season one, episode one of The Big Bang Theory on CBS, I have been hooked. Not only is it a super funny show but I can relate to the many nerdy references in the show.

In a nutshell, the show revolves around four friends: Leonard, Sheldon, Howard and Raj, who are young geniuses, but also huge nerds, as they deal with their relationships and insecurities. The show is in season ten now on CBS and in syndication on the Fox and TBS networks.

Recently CBS announced that a prequel to The Big Bang Theory would begin filming. A description of the show from our partner site screencrush.com says, "The series features a 9-year-old Sheldon Cooper living with with his family and attending high school in East Texas."

Here's been my only problem with the show. They say the character of Sheldon is from East Texas but grew up in Galveston. Galveston is not East Texas. And Jim Parsons, who plays Sheldon, is from Houston. He should know the difference.

But I digress.

Casting has been completed for the prequel titled "Young Sheldon" and a true East Texan has been cast as Sheldon's older brother, George Jr. His name is Montana Jordan from Ore City. He just finished an independent film with Josh Brolin called "The Legacy of a Whitetail Deer Hunter". The movie is currently waiting for a distributor according to the Longview News Journal.

"So I get to brag about it," Montana Jordan's mother, Kellie Smith, who is a first grade teacher in Ore City, told the Longview News Journal. "I'm not sure how many episodes we'll be filming, but we will relocate to, hopefully, Burbank."

She continued, "It really hasn't hit us, yet. We know there will be major changes in the family. We do what we need to do and are always there for each other and praying for each other. And Montana made us really proud of his determination."

I am looking forward to this new show. Prequels can be a bit of a crap shoot but I, for sure, will be rooting for the success of a fellow East Texan.
