The Driving Habits That Frustrate East Texans the Most
(East Texas) Many drivers in Tyler, Longview, and across East Texas seem to believe they're the only ones on the road. They think their destination is the most important and no one else's matters.
Why Tyler Drivers Are So Frustrated
I'm not the only driver in Tyler or East Texas who has noticed that drivers have a 'me mentality' when it comes to driving. Many appear to prioritize their own destination while disregarding basic traffic laws. Examples include rolling through stop signs or turning right on red without coming to a complete stop. These drivers could be putting a pedestrian's or a biker's life in jeopardy.

Traffic and Construction Are Adding to the Problem
The issue of self-centered driving is only increasing. The number of vehicles on the road, coupled with construction and traffic lights, adds to the problem as people are in a hurry to get somewhere.
We know that traffic is getting worse in parts of Tyler and East Texas. Some traffic lights seem to be poorly timed in portions of the region. In Tyler, there are no bridges on the major arteries to ease congestion and traffic flow. Plus, people are still complaining about the medians, too. It's all led to a 'me mentality' when it comes to being behind the wheel.
