East Texas Could Experience Severe Weather Into Thursday
The Storm Prediction Center has placed much of East Texas under an 'enhanced risk' for the development of some strong to severe thunderstorms this evening and lingering through Thursday morning.
The atmosphere is very unstable at this time and multiple rounds of heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected to roll through the area late this evening into Thursday with some storms reaching severe levels. These storms will have the capability of producing strong winds, small hail along with isolated tornadoes.
KLTV 7 Meteorologist Katie Vosler expects there to be a break in the rain late tomorrow morning, but with more waves of heavy rainfall throughout the day tomorrow afternoon and lasting through Friday afternoon.
In addition to the enhanced risk of thunderstorms, several East Texas counties are under a Flash Flood Watch through tomorrow too.
