East Texas July 4th Celebrations + Events 2020
East Texans will be celebrating our nations' independence in grand style on July 4th.
Whether celebrating at home with a group of family members and close friends or collectively social distancing at a public fireworks show, we are going to treat ourselves to one heck of fireworks show and party despite the coronavirus. This year is definitely going to be a bit different due to social distancing guidelines, but we ar still going to celebrate and have a fun time.
There are plenty of free activities across East Texas for everyone to enjoy while social distancing. The following is a list of July 4th celebrations that will be happening around the area. Remember if you purchase your own fireworks, treat them with respect, they can do great harm ot you or others and property too.
TYLER
Fourth Of July Fireworks CelebrationLindsey Park - 12557 Spur 364 West, Tyler
UPDATE: As of Thursday, July 2nd, the City of Tyler has canceled this event due to the governors' Executive Order that goes into effect at noon on Friday, July 3rd.
Fireworks on Saturday, July 4th around 9:15 p.m.
Carpooling is highly recommended. There will be one entrance to the park opening at 2 p.m., the main park gate off of the supr and space is first come first served. Admission is free. Due to COVID-19 health concerns, refreshments and live entertainment will not be provided this year. Attendees are highly encouraged to follow safe social distance practices while enjoying this show.
LONGVIEW
2020 Fireworks + Freedom CelebrationMaude Cobb Activity Center - 100 Grande Blvd., Longview
Fireworks on Saturday, July 4th at 9:30 p.m.
Carpooling is highly recommended. Gates will open at 7 p.m at the convention complex. Admission is free. Due to COVID-19 health concerns, refreshments and live entertainment will not be provided this year. Attendees are highly encouraged to follow safe social distance practices while enjoying this show.
ATHENS

This event is happening, but you must have your tickets by now because they are sold out. Due to COVID-19, capacity for this show was limited and required a free ticket. Check here for more details.
CANTON
Parade & FireworksFireworks on Saturday, July 4th at dark
The City Of Canton will host a fireworks show for the public on the west side of the First Monday Trade Day grounds on FM 859. Social distancing guidelines are highly recommended.
OVERTON
Fireworks In The ParkSaturday, July 4th beginning at 5 p.m.
There will be several activities for the public to enjoy before the main fireworks event. Food vendors will be on site and social distancing guidelines are highly recommended.
BULLARD
Blast Over BullardSaturay, June 27th beginning at 7 p.m.
There will be live music from Curtis Grimes with the fireworks show beginning at 9 p.m. Social distancing guidelines are recommended.
GUN BARREL CITY
July FestGun Barrel City Park Amphitheater
Saturday, July 11 beginning at 6 p.m.
There will be carnival rides, vendors, live music and fireworks. Entertainment begins at 6 p.m with the fireworks happening at 10 p.m. Check the schedule for a full list of events and performers.
