East Texas School Districts Plan Early Release Due To Potential Severe Weather
Some East Texas school districts are taking proactive measures with early releases in anticipation of a severe weather break out event in East Texas.
Many school districts are monitoring the weather closely and will determine at a later time if an early dismissal will be declared for their districts.
At this time, the following school districts will be releasing students early today. This list will be updated as information becomes available.
- Alto ISD - classes will be dismissed at 12:30
- Big Sandy ISD - classes will be dismissed at 2 p.m.
- Brownsboro ISD - classes will be dismissed at 2 p.m.
- Chapel Hill ISD (Mt. Pleasant) - classes will be dismissed at 12:45 p.m.
- Commerce ISD - classes will be dismissed at 1 p.m.
- Como-Pickton CISD - classes will be dismissed at 1 p.m.
- Cumberland Academy Tyler - classes will be dismissed at 1:30 p.m.
- Frankston ISD - classes will be dismissed at 2 p.m.
- LaPoyner ISD - classes will be dismissed at 1:30 p.m.
- Leverett's Chapel ISD - classes will be dismissed at 2 p.m.
- Murchison ISD - classes will be dismissed at 1 p.m.
- Pittsburg ISD - classes will be dismissed at 1 p.m.
- Quitman ISD - classes will be dismissed at 2 p.m.
- Sulphur Springs ISD - classes will be dismissed at 1 p.m.
- Union Grove ISD - classes will be dismissed at 1 p.m.
- Winona ISD - classes will be dismissed at 2:30 p.m.
- Winnsboro ISD - classes will be dismissed at 1 p.m.
