If this type of behavior continues in Texas, specifically Longview, there are going to be some very serious consequences. I am not meaning that as any type of threat, but I can tell you that residents in Longview are getting very aggravated by some vehicle vandalism that has been popping up quite a bit lately.

I was looking through some stories posted in the “All Things Longview” group on Facebook and a few pictures caught my eye. The post was made by Vanessa Gonzales, and she was driving her black truck near Tower Honda of Longview when it was hit with eggs. While some may think this is a harmless prank, this can cause some serious damage. 

What is the Criminal Charge for Throwing Eggs at a Vehicle? 

In Texas, when throwing eggs at a vehicle that can be classified as Criminal Mischief. Essentially it is intentional or knowingly performing damage to property of the owner, causing monetary loss, or causing markings without consent. The punishment depends on the value of the property. If the vandalism is under $100 it’s just a fine. If the value is $700 to $2,500 you could face up to a year in jail and $4,000 in fines.

Let’s Hope This Foolish Behavior Stops Immediately 

There are people dealing with long jail sentences after throwing items and causing a fatal wreck. We never want to see that here in Texas. All parents should talk to their kids about the consequences of their actions. What seems like a harmless prank could end in serious jail time.
