Thanksgiving is finally here!

The groceries are bought, the cooks have their assignment and if you're on turkey duty this year according to a study you don't have to wash it before you place it in the oven.

According to Fox News, experts warn that washing raw meat cant just take whatever germs are on it and splash them around your sink and kitchen.

A recommendation for cooking your Thanksgiving turkey is opening the plastic wrap and drain any liquid into the sink before throwing the package out.

Then pat the turkey dry with a paper towel or towels and remember to wash your hands and utensils with hot water and soap when you're all done.

Now if you have any questions or concerns with cooking your Thanksgiving turkey you can reach out and call the USDA Meat and Poultry Hotline at (888) 674- 6854, and they will be taking your calls between 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving holiday from our family to yours.
