Did You Know These Famous Stars Are From East Texas?

Without a doubt the Lone Star State is huge and because of its vastness, it comes as no surprise that Texas is full of a lot of talented people.

Hometown East Texas names like Matthew McConaughey and Patrick Mahomes top the list as well as famous names like Kelly Clarkson, Selena Gomez, Beyonce, Willie Nelson, and many others who are at least known by a majority of people.

And we Texans get to claim them as state natives!

With so many popular celebrities from Texas, I got to wondering; how many come from East Texas?

So I posted on our Facebook page to ask East Texans who were the well-known local celebrities

The responses were great and surprising too. I've heard of quite a few of them but I didn't realize that some of them were even from East Texas.

Now, there were some names given that aren't really Texans (in my opinion) -- by that, I mean they either spent very little of their childhood in Texas or were only born here. However, I did include some of these celebs in my list.

As it turns out, there are a good many number of football players from East Texas, and of course big-time actors and singers. When it comes to singing, it seems as if East Texas has produced a ton of country stars.
