Buying Fireworks? Here’s What to Know in East Texas
(East Texas) While I was driving from Tyler to Henderson this morning for an appointment at the Texas Department of Public Safety, I happened to notice a familiar sight. One that pops up this time of year. A fireworks stand!
Those shipping container boxes turn into seasonal cash cows as they sell us sparklers, Roman candles, rockets, artillery shells, and more as we get ready to celebrate the 4th of July in Texas!

We will soon be lighting those slow-burning punks to give our fireworks that special spark they need to light up the East Texas sky.
Those fireworks will be accompanied by and preceded by hot dogs, potato salad, BBQ, and burgers by the pool or lake, and once the sun goes down, our eyes will focus on the sky.
Fireworks Season Begins June 24th in East Texas
Firework stands and shops will open for business June 24th through July 4th.
These retail stands are often fundraisers for nonprofit organizations so you could be supporting a great cause in your community until midnight on July 4th.

Fireworks Safety and Legal Reminders
Wherever you shop, shop smart for your fountains, rockets, sparklers, aerial shots, roman candles, fire crackers, and smoke bombs - remember to play safe around fireworks because they can cause serious injuries.
As an option, instead of producing your fireworks show from your backyard, if you're outside of the city limits, you can always check out one of the professional fireworks shows that will be happening around East Texas this coming July 4th.
Know The Laws Before You Light Up The Sky
If you end up producing your show in your backyard, remember that most cities have ordinances banning the use of fireworks, and some areas, including counties, could have other restrictions or ordinances against the use of fireworks. Check with your local law enforcement in hopes of avoiding a hefty fine.
Have a fun and safe 4th of July with your friends and family.
