While I do appreciate the fact that they eliminate lots of rodents and insects I cannot stand snakes. I know there are a few that live in my back yard because I have seen them while mowing and other landscaping projects, but I leave them alone and they leave me alone, it works out great for both of us. It’s also a good thing knowing the ones close to my house are all small, because if they were big, I would probably have to burn the whole house down. If you cannot stand snakes either there are some specific areas in Texas, you need to be very careful or else you will encounter a snake.
