ICE at Risk of Running Out of Funds, Official Confirms
As everyone in Texas knows, immigration is a very hot topic in the Lone Star State.
We have Mexico to the south and President Trump has been adamant since taking office about securing the borders and pushing to deport anyone in the United States illegally.
But there is now a high-ranking officer within the Immigrations and Customs Enforcement that is saying the agency has run out of money to detain and house more migrants.
ICE is Completely Out of Space
According to Reuters, U.S. immigration detention is at its capacity with 47,600 detainees currently being housed.
President Trump and his administration is seeking more bed space, even the U.S. Defense Department was assisting with expanding the bed count.
ICE is currently funded to house on average 41,500 detainees, but we are far past those numbers at this point.

ICE Has Been Very Active Since Trump Took Office
Since Donald Trump took office on January 20th until March 10th, there were approximately 32,800 arrests. Of those arrests 27% were immigration violators with no other criminal charges or convictions.
For the entire year of 2024 ICE made 113,400 total arrests.
ICE Should Have More Funding Soon
While ICE might be at capacity for now, it sounds like assistance is on the way to help them continue their efforts of securing the border.
No one is certain exactly how much money is going to be given to add more bed space, but there are government agencies working quickly to send more assistance to ICE.
