(Mix 93-1)  It's that time of the year to pack the cooler down with drinks and head to the lake or to a backyard party. The cooler will also keep our burger patties, cheese, potato salad, and other condiments cold, too, but there is one brand of cooler that you'll want to pay close attention to because several models have been recalled.

One brand of cooler has been responsible for breaking bones or even severing the fingertips of the ones towing them to the picnic table or grill.

More than 1.1 million rolling Igloo coolers have been recalled

No one wants to go the the emergency room carrying their severed fingertip on ice or to show the doctor part of their finger hanging off because of an accident with an ice chest.

Igloo Products Corp issued the recall after multiple reported injuries from the product. The 90-quart Flip & Tow Rolling Cooler is the model that has been recalled.

So far, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission says that a few more than two dozen amputations have been caused by this product, with another 50 or so serious injuries.

What's causing the injuries?

The coolers that were sold from January 2019 to January 2025 have a design flaw in the handle that can pinch the fingertips against the cooler body, causing injury.
